Jays outlast Norman North in high-scoring affair, 9-8

Pitchers had a tough day during the game between Bluejays and Norman North, as the two teams put up 17 runs combined in a 9-8 Bluejays win.

The teams banged out 15 hits hits between them, as well as four for extra bases.

The teams traded runs for most of the contest, leading to five lead changes in the game.

Bluejays took the lead in the eighth inning and held on for the victory. Bluejays scored on an RBI single by Zane Maltz off Mulligan, plating Blaze Hastings.

Camden Wilcott got the win for Bluejays. He allowed one run over 2 2/3 innings. He struck out one, walked two and surrendered three hits.

Bluejays’ Jacob Chappell, Blaze and Beau Davis combined for four hits and seven RBIs.

Dean was the game’s losing pitcher. He lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked four, struck out none, and allowed no runs.

Bluejays jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the top of the first. Jacob kicked things off for Bluejays with a single. A single by Rowdy Reihs then moved Jacob from first to second. Blaze homered, scoring Jacob and JD Honeycutt.

After a quick strike from Bluejays, Norman North responded with three runs in the fourth. Norman North scored on an RBI single by Carter, an error, and an RBI double by Hansmajor.
