The Guthrie Lady Jays put themselves in the right position, but Carl Albert kept their distance to pull away in the second half.

Senior Mikaela Murillo drilled the game’s opening shot to give her team a 3-0 lead, but then the Lady Titans pulled off a 13-2 run in the next 8:40 to open the game. However, Carl Albert held just a 17-8 halftime lead.

Guthrie were given opportunities to make it interesting, but struggled shooting the basketball with a 38-21 setback. The Lady Jays fall to 6-12 overall and Carl Albert improves to 13-4.

The Lady Jays committed 17 turnovers and made 9-of-26 shots from the field.

Guthrie returns home Friday evening when they host the Chickasha Chicks.
