The accolades and honors continue to come in for the 2011 Class 5A state football champions.

Landry Chappell and Blake Belcher

After being named to the Oklahoma Coaches Association All-State team, Blake Belcher and Landry Chappell were named to The Oklahoman’s All-State football team.

Belcher and Chappell help lead the BlueJays to the school’s third state championship. Along with the all-state status, both players were named to the Oklahoman’s Big All City team.

Belcher helped control the offensive line that paved the way for the Jays, who averaged 400 yards of offense and nearly 40 points. Watch Belcher’s interview with the Oklahoman’s Ryan Aber.

Chappell was the middle anchor of the Jays defense that was as stingy as they came in the state. In addition, Chappell leaves Guthrie High School as the all-time leading tackler. Watch Belcher’s interview with the Oklahoman’s Ryan Aber.

Luke Davis and Bryan Dutton were named to both teams as Honorable Mention.

Davis was named as a defensive back, but could have easily been a running back selection after piling on over 1,500 yards rushing and scoring more points than any other 5A player in the state.

Dutton played his best when his team needed him to be especially in the playoffs with his ability to make big plays key scenarios. The senior-to-be was among the leaders in rushing quarterbacks as well as accuracy in the passing game.
