Summer temp’s arriving early in Guthrie

Dog days of spring?

With summer not arriving until June 21st, at 12:16 p.m., Guthrie and the Sooner state are already seeing temperatures in the mid 90s and etching closer to the century mark.

The National Weather Service reported 12 of the last 14 months have had higher than normal temperatures in central Oklahoma and the view into mid-June indicates that it may add another one to that list.

The forecast for each day next week is calling for afternoon temperatures in the middle or upper 90s, which is 10 to 12 degrees above normal. The warmest temperatures in the Guthrie area in the past three days has come around 3 p.m.
