A Guthrie man has been appointed by Gov. Mary Fallin to the Board of Regents for the Oklahoma Agricultural and Mechanical Colleges.

Ricky Joe Davis will succeed regent Fred Boettcher of Ponca City, who is resigning effective May 1, 2011.

Davis’ appointment is effective May 2, 2011 and he will be serving the rest of Boettcher’s term, which expires April 4, 2016.

Since 1983, Davis has been the managing general partner for Davis Farms, a 5,500-acre wheat, beef and dairy operation in Logan Coungty.

He also has been general partner at Dimmitt Farms since 2006.
