West Side Fire Station Vote on April 5th

Bookmark and Share

Guthrie Citizens will be asked to go to their polling places on Tuesday, April 5th to determine whether or not to allow the City of Guthrie to sell the West Side Fire Station.

The station is no longer used and is not included in any future plans yet tax dollars are still spent to pay for the maintenance and other costs associated with the building. One of the City Council’s goals in their strategic plan is to sell excess and surplus property to avoid these costs to the taxpayer.

If a sale is approved by the voters, a formal auction or bid process will be put in place so that the City can realize the maximum amount of revenue from the sale. The property cannot sell for less than appraised value.

The following was from the City of Guthrie. For more information, or have questions please visit the City of Guthrie’s website.
