Following was published on KFOR on March 15th.

Officials have named a local man as the new Guthrie Fire Chief.

After a nation wide search, Eric Harlow has been selected to the post.

Harlow is currently serving as the Deputy Chief for the Deer Creek Fire Department as well as a Lieutenant for the Will Rogers World Airport Fire Department.

The process consisted of nearly 30 applicants from five different states.

Harlow will replace Chief Lester Branch, who is retiring after 23 years with the Guthrie Fire Department.

Chief Harlow will begin his employment on March 21, 2011. Officials say that will give him the chance to work with Chief Branch before he leaves at the end of the month.
