The Junior Jays defeated the host team, Harrah, to claim the tournament championship by a final score of 42-41. Earlier this year, the 7th grade girls and 7th grade boys teams won the Perkins Tournament.

The Jays are coached by Jason Rice and Matt Peering.

Guthrie got to the finals with convincing wins over 6A opponents with Ponca City on Thursday (35-22) and Moore West (46-31) on Friday.

The 8th grade team along with the 7th grader’s will return back to the GJHS gymnasium Monday night when they host Western Heights. The first game is scheduled for a 5:30 tip.
