How the Jays opponents did in Week 5

The Guthrie football program won their second consecutive game with a win over the Ada Cougars. The 13-7 decision was the first ever win for a Guthrie team over the Cougars. The two programs last played in 1979 as Ada leads the all time series 4-to-1.

Here are how the Jays opponents did in Week 5 of the high school season:

Duncan 42, Durant 10

Duncan running back Jordan Laskey rushed 28 times for 174 yards and five touchdowns to pace the Demon offense in a 42-10 homecoming win over Durant in which the Demons improved to 3-2, 2- in District 5A-2.

Ponca City 0, Bartlesville 35 

The Bruins swarmed Ponca City Friday night leaving the Wildcat offense scoreless during Bartlesville’s 42-0 Homecoming victory in District 6A-4.

Enid 20, Owasso 10

The Enid Plainsmen football team took a big step forward to a home playoff game with a win over the Owasso Rams. The Plainsman were led by a staunch defensive effort that limited the Rams to only one touchdown.

Deer Creek 69, Southeast 13

The Antlers picked up their first district win in a big way over the Spartans. Deer Creek’s Alex Christensen and Michael Coleman combined for 498 yards.

Noble 6, Western Heights 47

Western Heights won their first game of the season in a big way. The Jets defense held the Bears to just six points. Noble, who did not play in Week 3, is now 0-4 on the year.

Carl Albert 50, El Reno 14

The Titans jumped out to a 30-0 halftime lead and never were tested as the Titans remain perfect since Week 1 of the season. Titans Davonte Knight scored three touchdowns.
