Original Story: Bryan Dutton had a special freshmen year at Guthrie High School on the athletic field and wrestling mat only to out do himself this past season in his sophomore campaign. Now he is doing it for Oklahoma White in the Sophomore Sunbelt Classic.

The junior-to-be knocked the very first pitch of the entire classic over the fence en route to a 4-for-7 day at the plate with three RBIs.

Dutton’s Oklahoma White team picked up wins over Oklahoma Blue (10-6) and Oklahoma Royal (10-7) on Thursday and on Friday afternoon defeated Canada (5-4). However, dropped their first game of the classic to Texas (6-0). Dutton finished the game by going 3-for-4 and through four games is 9-15 (.600).

Dutton did not slow down on day two as he went 2-for-4 with three more RBIs and added a triple against the Canadians. Oklahoma White will show down with Texas at 4:30, at Dolese Park, in Oklahoma City.

Dutton became Guthrie’s all-time passer this past season on the gridiron, won the 140-pound state championship, and helped lead the BlueJay baseball team to the state tournament while adding 12 home runs.
