The Suburban Conference flexed its muscles again this season on the diamond by landing five teams in the eight team 5A state tournament field.

Chickasha and Carl Albert made their sixth straight tournament while Deer Creek made their fifth in a row. Shawnee was back for the seventh time in nine seasons and Guthrie was back for the first time since going back-to-back in 2004 and 2005.

As one could imagine, the all conference team was composed of many Deer Creek Antlers, who as a team finished with a 33-6 record. Headlining he selections, who were made by the 10 conference coaches, was Deer Creek’s shortstop Brian Anderson who was named the conference player of the year.

Joining Anderson was teammate Michael Fulmer, who was named the pitcher of the year. Both players helped lead their team to the state championship game and both have signed to play at Arkansas next season. Their head coach, Ron Moore, was selected as the coach of the year.
