The third annual “The See Spot Run” will take place at 9:00am on Saturday, May 14, 2011 in downtown Guthrie, Oklahoma.  This 5K and 10K run/walk event is benefitting Free to Live, a non-profit animal sanctuary located in Edmond, Oklahoma (www.freetoliveok.com),

2011 is the third year for this annual running event which was created in memory of Chris Cowden, a long-time Guthrie resident and animal rights advocate, who was tragically killed in a motorcycle accident on May 17, 2008.  In the first two years of this event “The See Spot Run” has collectively welcomed over 1,500 runners from all over the State of Oklahoma and raised $15,000 for the Free to Live Animal Sanctuary.  In memory of his passion for the rescue and fair treatment of all animals, in addition to his zeal for running and athletics, the Cowden Family and friends created the “The See Spot Run” to honor Chris’ animal advocate efforts and legacy.   Through this annual sporting event, they have continued to promote in Chris’ memory an increased awareness of animal rights and the lasting support of non-profit animal organizations such as Free to Live.

“The See Spot Run” will offer all participants the opportunity to compete in either the 5K or 10K event.  Walkers and runners are welcome and can register directly at www.theseespotrun.com or by email at theseespotrun@hotmail.com.  Donations for this event can also be sent to “The See Spot Run” P.O. Box 292, Guthrie, Oklahoma, 73044.

Guthrie offensive lineman Blake Belcher picked up his second official scholarship offer from yet another Pac 12 team.

The Arizona Wildcats join Oregon State to the official offer list for the 6-foot-6, 270-pound offensive tackle.

Belcher has received mail from Arizona, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, Kansas, Colorado, Tulsa, and Oregon State.

Arizona, who is coached by Mike Stoops, started last season by winning their first four games of the year before finishing the season 7-5. The Wildcats dropped their final game in the Alamo Bowl, 36-10, to Oklahoma State.

Arizona currently has two players on their roster from the state: Trent Spurgeon of Owasso and William Wright of Pauls Valley. Spurgeon was regarded as one of Oklahoma’s highest recruited offensive lineman a season ago.
