The Guthrie track program stayed close to home with a trip to the Edmond Memorial Invitational Track Meet after spending the first few events in the Tulsa area.

Senior Rachel Roberts and the Lady Jays will compete at Douglass this Friday. The senior will run next season at Harding University.

Galbreath, a freshmen, and the rest of the 100 meter competitors were forced to race twice because times were not able to be retrieved. Galbreath won the first race as well.

Senior Rachel Roberts ran a 12:39.09 in the 3200 meter race and was good enough for sixth overall. Roberts time was 18 seconds off the winning time in the strong 6A field.

Fellow senior Alexis Daniels finished in a tie for third in the high jump with a leap of 4 feet and 10 inches. Erin Perring and CC Bates competed in the discus and finished seventh and eighth respectively. Perring had a toss of 101-01 and Bates with a 95-02.

Robinson collected a time of 10.81 and was just .02 faster than Southmoore’s Julian Wilson. Wilson is a University of Oklahoma football signee. Robinson has won the 100 meter race in each competition he has competed in this season.

Robinson’s 100 meter win collected 10 points for the Jays, and as a team finished fourth overall in the heavy 6A field. In fact, the junior was responsible for 26 of the Jays 48 total points.

The host team, Memorial, took top honors with a score of 155, Santa Fe second (147), Southmoore (62), and Guthrie (48). The Jays were without a few distance runners as they competed for the soccer team in Coweta.

Robinson, who won the 5A 110 meter hurdles at state last season as a sophomore, collected a second place finish and eight points with a time of 14.39. Edmond Santa Fe’s Gunnar Nixon, who many say is the best in the state, was .08 quicker for the top spot. This was the first event of the season for Robinson not to claim the top spot in the 110 meter hurdles.

Robinson collected eight more points by finishing second in the 200 meter dash in a time of 22.37. He was .10 slower than Southmoore’s D’Vante Henry. Dustin Bohanan’s, Guthrie’s all state football selection, earned two points with a fifth place finish.

In other individual races, Jonathan Ogan was seventh in the 1600 meter, Walker Cross finished eighth in the 3200 meter, and Zac Brown shot a 43-06 in the shot put to finish eighth.

In relay races, the 4 x 100 team of Robinson, Bohanan, Chaunsey Dumas, and Corbin Crockett finished second (42.50) behind Southmoore (42.25). The 4 x 800 Guthrie relay team finished fifth overall with a time of 8.50.09.

The unranked Guthrie boys soccer team made the trip up to T-Town and collected a 3-0 win over 11th ranked Coweta. The Lady Jays dropped their game with the Lady Tigers 1-0 in overtime.

The Jays, who are 5-2 overall and 1-0 in district play, have now won three games in a row as they played their second road game of a three game road trip. Next up is 6th ranked Tulsa Memorial tomorrow (Tuesday) and finally return for a four game home stand.

Guthrie got goals from Zach Olson, Omari Ajanaku, and Jason Ogan.

For the Lady Jays, who stand at 2-5 on the year and 0-1 in district 5A-3, they have now dropped their last four games after starting the season 2-1 in the Noble Rose Rock Tournament. The 11th ranked Guthrie girls will look to get back in the win column against Tulsa Memorial.
